 Ms. Brooks, co-author of Easy Hikes New York City and 60 Hikes within 60 Miles: New York City (third edition to be released this month) is a professional photographer whose images have appeared in Backpacker magazine and other publications. An amateur ornithologist for many years, Brooks has traveled Europe and the Americas in search of birds and other wildlife.

Spring bird walks are a wonderful tradition. Come out to the 
 NHLT's
Alfred Sabolcik Property for
a guided hike focusing on birds

led by volunteer Catherine Brooks.

Experienced birders and those who

 know nothing about our avian friends

are all welcome!
 

  The Bird Walk will not take place on Saturday if it is raining.

For more information, e-mail us or call 860-489-4118. We recommend that you wear long pants and boots for the

 terrain and bring along binoculars

 or other sighting aids. We will have

a few pairs to share.

 

Remember to check for ticks after the

walk. FYI - most cell phones do not work

 at this site.

 

Please note that this property is not yet

open to the public. It is only open for

 special events such as this guided hike

and work days.

 

Driving Directions:  From Route 202, turn south
onto East Cotton Hill Rd. Go about
1.5 miles and turn left on Sabolcik Rd. Bear right where road becomes a dirt road. Turn right into

 dirt track just past first house on the right and across from #140. Volunteers will direct you

to the parking area.
