It was wonderful to see so many of you (more than 160 adults and 20 children) last Saturday evening at One Fabulous Fall Frolic!

The evening was cool and clear and the colors beautiful up at Ski Sundown with great music by Rani Arbo & daisy mayhem, delicious food donated or discounted by many local farms and restaurants, fires blazing outside for s'mores and the lodge decorated with lit pumpkins carved by VoAg and Honors students from Northwest Regional #7 High School and local Girl Scouts. Plus, the desserts and hors d'oeuvres made by more than 20 volunteers!

Just before the music started, the NHLT presented Tom Klebart with its first Founder's Award. Tom dedicated more than 25 years of service to NHLT as a Board member, many of them as President and Treasurer. We are grateful for his wonderful contributions to the organization and for all he has done to advance land conservation in the community.

Huge thanks go to all who helped make the event a success. A small and extremely hardworking committee planned and organized this new fundraiser. We thank Cindy Bohan, Susie Horn, Madeline McClave, Karen Meares, and Judy Stewart for seeing it through. Many individuals contributed beyond the ticket price and we appreciate their generosity. NHLT is grateful to all of our Fall Frolic sponsors and donors including these farms and businesses:

Ski Sundown for donating the facility
and their time to support the event

Rani Arbo & daisy mayhem for donating a portion of their normal fee

Fall Cleanup Help Needed!

The New Hartford Conservation Commission/NHLT annual fall cleanup at the Town of New Hartford's Jones Mountain Open Space Preserve is set for the morning of Saturday, November 24th to coincide with the NHLT's fourth Saturday regular hike. Please let us know if you can help out with raking culverts, blowing leaves off the carriage roads or other tasks. Paul Mahoney of the Conservation Commission will lead the effort.

NHLT is also looking for volunteers to join a crew to do some work at Riverview Park across from the Post Office and at a few other properties. Details about work days will be sent next week in another e-news. Thanks in advance for your help!
