Dynamics SL Client Event Was a Great Success!

Last month, we held one of the largest Microsoft Dynamics SL client events yet, and if you missed it, here are some of the highlights: 
  • 40 Tips in 60 Minutes - As with every event, we focused on a variety of topics to appeal to all attendees including the Top 40 Tips in 60 minutes for Dynamics SL focused on tips for using Financials, Order Management, Project Accounting Modules, Quick Send, Reporting, Attachments, and Application Server. We also reviewed tips for using Management Reporter, Business Analyzer, and Report Assistant as well as discussed the latest Dynamics SL Roadmap and Statement of Direction.
  • 3 Slides in 3 Minutes from the Best Dynamics Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) - The Dynamics ERP products have a tremendous platform and of course the Microsoft brand. This is why so many vendors have developed products to integrate and extend the value of the solutions. Check out some of the great add-on tools for SL we featured including  Progressive System Solutions, JAAS Systems,  Sandler-Kahne, MaxQ Technologies, My Staffing Pro, Paramount Technologies, Corporate Technologies, ImageLink, SVA Consulting, and Unanet.
  • Sharing Best Practices with Other SL Users - Attendees enjoyed having the opportunity to mix and mingle with other firms to discuss similar challenges and share best practices using Dynamics SL. Nothing is better than learning how someone overcame a problem by using the software.
  • Outstanding Presenters - Once again this year, we featured our knowledgeable staff as presenters including Colleen McCoshen, Dynamics SL Support Manager; Timothy Jones, Technical Services Director; Paul James, Boyer Dynamics SL/ERP Consultant; Jon Augdahl, Dynamics SL Practice Manager; and Jack Boyer, President (who  presented Independent Software Vendors as well as the Product Roadmap). We thank them for their valuable insight!

Join us for
Management Reporter Training on July 17 and 18 or August 21 and 22, 2013 and earn CPE credit! This two-day class is ideal for the accountant who has had little formal training in Management Reporter, the new real-time financial reporting application from Microsoft. These classes have been selling out so be sure to sign-up quickly, as we limit the classroom to 6 students to guarantee a high quality hands-on class environment.    

 

Management Reporter replaces FRx and has undo capabilities, a nicer user interface and the ability to group or organize reports in a more useful way. Discover the power and flexibility of new reporting trees to present financial results at the responsibility level (i.e. by accounting segment or dimension and combinations thereof). Use report output and distribution options including Report Viewer. Specific topics to be covered include: 

 

  • Designing basic report building blocks in Report Designer with row definitions, column definitions, and reporting tree definitions.
  • Associating the building blocks in a variety of report definitions including trial balance reports, income statements, variance reports, balance sheets and consolidation reports.
  • Applying security to users and reports within the program.
  • Incorporating non-financial data, such as headcounts, into the various reports.

Mobile phone This month, we are very excited to announce that Microsoft Dynamics SL is preparing to launch the first user interface for a web service that supports mobile devices you already own called the Microsoft Dynamics SL Project Time Entry. In addition, following this are the next to be released, Expense Entry and Time & Expense Approval for mobile devices. This functionality allows employees to remotely enter time from their job site and project managers to approve time from their location. By eliminating the need to travel to an office to enter time, staff is more efficient and productive. This new functionality also allows companies to analyze their project status in real-time improving accuracy of project budgets and overall customer satisfaction. Stay tuned for more details!
