You're Invited! Dynamics GP Year End Event

Prepare now to end the calendar year smoothly in Microsoft Dynamics GP!  You and your staff are invited to join Boyer & Associates at the Microsoft Dynamics GP Year-End Closing Process event on Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at the Microsoft office in Edina from 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. The office is located at 3601 West 76th Street, Suite 600, Edina, MN. Management Reporter Training Class - New Date!

Join us for Management Reporter Training on December 11 and 12. This class is ideal for the accountant who has had little formal training in Management Reporter, the new real-time financial reporting application from Microsoft.This class has sold out each of the past 5 months and will only be offered while there is enough interest to fill the classrooms. We limit the classroom to 6 students to guarantee a high quality hands-on class environment.

Management Reporter replaces FRx and has undo capabilities, a nicer user interface and the ability to group or organize reports in a more useful way. Discover the power and flexibility of reporting trees to present financial results at the responsibility level (i.e. by accounting segment or dimension and combinations thereof). Use report output and distribution options including Report Viewer. Topics to be covered include:

• Designing basic report building blocks in Report Designer with row definitions, column definitions, and reporting tree definitions.
• Associating the building blocks in a variety of report definitions including trial balance reports, income statements, variance reports, balance sheets and consolidation reports.

In an effort to help you wade through the numerous new features coming out in Dynamics GP 2013, here's what we believe will be some of the most beneficial to current Dynamics GP customers:

• Printing within GP, the Printer can now be selected at Print Time - Over the years, customers have been frustrated by the lack of this feature. Having grown accustomed to the printer selection functionality of common applications in the Microsoft Office suite, users previously had to reset the printer selection before printing reports from GP. With Dynamics GP 2013, users can now select the printer for a report at the time of printing.
• Documents can be attached directly to some GP Windows without first opening a Note - For some time now you've been able to open a record note and attach documents to the note associated with specific records in the data base. But the problem with this approach was that the document had to be posted in a shared folder on the server and then linked to. With the new release, users can now associate documents of various types with specific records in GP and have those documents loaded into the database and available to all users.
• GL Journal Entry Inquiries can now be performed on Historical GL Years - Now you'll havethe ability to perform Journal Entry Inquiries into closed Fiscal Years has been added to the inquiry screen. As in other inquiries, users can now select a specific Fiscal Year from the pull down list of available years.
• Improved Business Intelligence - Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013 will offer both full-service and self-service users a more complete look at the business, with even more out-of-the-box Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services and Microsoft Excel reports.
