June 19 - 21, 2013, GEN-TECH will be conducting 3 days of training on Generac Air Cooled Home Standby product. Days 1 and 2 will be Generac Certification, with an optional third day being for those who want to learn more about Generac's Air Cooled product manufactured between 2000 and 2010. Generac Air Cooled - 2-Day
For the aspiring Generac technician, this Air-Cooled class is the prerequisite for "Commercial I". This course allows the (dealer employed) technician the ability to perform warranty repairs on all Generac air cooled products, including the portable line up.
The prerequisites include taking 4 required on-line classes from Generac's Learning Center which are Basic Electricity, Basic Generator Theory, Air Cooled Engines and Schematic 1.
With classroom instruction, lab exercises and homework, the technician is sure to come away from this course with valuable, product specific knowledge. The curriculum includes electrical safety, engine and generator controls, fuel systems and maintenance, hands-on troubleshooting and operation, transfer switches, application information, troubleshooting information, plus the use of schematic and wiring diagrams.
The regular registration will cost $550, but if you register early (14 days prior to the start date) the cost of registration is only $495.

 Generac Pre-Nexus (Home Standby) Course To support the ever evolving Generac Home Standby product line, GEN-TECH will offer an additional 1-Day class with diagnostic and familiarization of the Generac Home Standby product manufactured prior to the Nexus Controller. Our Pre-Nexus Home Standby product training adds more diagnostic and familiarization to the 2-Day Air Cooled Course with Hands-on instruction of the "older" product.
As a prerequisite, Generac's 2-Day Air Cooled Home Standby Course must be taken in advance of this class. Pre-Nexus Home Standby product training is not authorized for Generac Certifications and is optional only as an additional day.
With an additional day of classroom instruction and lab exercises, the technician is sure to come away from this course with valuable, specific product knowledge. The curriculum includes applicable engine and generator controls, fuel system operation, hands-on trouble-shooting and operation, plus the use of schematic and wiring diagrams.
The regular registration will cost $195, but if you register early (14 days prior to the start date) the cost of registration is only $175.50.
