Motivation Monthly
|
Memorial Day is a US federal holiday wherein the men and women who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces are remembered. In this special issue of Motivation Monthly we wish to remember the fallen and what they fought for.
We would like to recognize a special trend this year which is buying American made products. All of us can help support our country, create American jobs, boost our economy and keep our nation strong.

The Advantages of Made in USA
Purchasing products made in the United States of America provides many benefits to the nation's economy. These products include food, clothing, electronics, furniture and automobiles, all of which are commonly manufactured overseas. Buying American-made products is beneficial to you, your neighbors and your country at large.
Jobs
Many employers move jobs overseas because of the lower price point of foreign-made goods. Consumers who show a preference for buying American-made products over cheaper foreign goods send a message to corporations who would otherwise consider moving operations overseas. Also, buying products made in the USA supports American workers who manufacture the products and their families.
National Economy
American-made products increase the gross domestic product (or GDP) of the United States, thereby pumping more money into the national economy. Also, American workers employed in manufacturing have money to spend on products, thereby bettering the economy in a way that could not happen had they been unemployed due to outsourcing.
Human Rights
Many outsourced third-world factories treat their workers in an unethical manner. Some of the key issues include paying workers unlivable wages, promoting unsafe working conditions and using cruel tactics to force their employees to work. These factories, often known as "sweatshops," manufacture goods intended for export to the United States, including toys, shoes, clothing and electronics. The United States has laws specifically prohibiting such conditions in American factories; buying American ensures that the product was created in an ethical fashion.
