Route 21 To Close Again at Metra Tracks in downtown Libertyville

 

Closing on Saturday, May 17 at 6 a.m. until the evening of Monday, May 19

 

Recently performed emergency rail repairs by METRA Railroad on their track at IL Route 21 (Milwaukee Ave) South of Winchester Rd in Libertyville, resulted in railroad track grade restoration at an improper elevation (too high). This improper rail  elevation has caused an extremely rough crossing grade condition on IL Route 21 at this location which requires immediate correction by METRA. 

 

To facilitate METRA Railroad's correction of this condition IL Route 21 (Milwaukee Ave) will be full closed at the METRA Railroad crossing south of Winchester Rd in Libertyville, Lake County beginning at 6:00AM, Saturday, May 17, 2014 until Monday evening, May 19, 2014.  The exact time of the roadway re-opening on Monday will be dependent upon

completion of their work, but the roadway will be re-opened as soon as possible. 

 

The posted detour for the closure will be as follows:

 

SB IL Route 21 Traffic will be directed to turn Right (west) on either IL Route 137 (Peterson Rd) or Winchester Rd (local alternate), west on IL Route 137 or Winchester Rd to left turn (south) on Butterfield Rd., south on Butterfield Rd to left turn (east) on IL Route 176, east on IL Route 176 back to IL Route 21. 

 

NB IL Route 21 Traffic will be directed to turn left (west) on IL Route 176, west on IL Route 176 to right (north) on Butterfield Rd, North on Butterfield Rd to right (east) on either Winchester Rd (local alternate) or IL Route 137 (Peterson Rd), east on Winchester Rd of IL Route 137 back to IL Route 21.

Independent and New Political Party Candidates
Courtesy petition packets for independent and new political party candidates seeking a county office in the November election will be available online at LakeCandidatePower.info under Petition Filing Information until June 23, the last day to circulate and file. Candidates may also obtain copies of the petition packets by visiting the County Clerk's office, 18 N. County Street, Waukegan during weekday hours of 8:30 am to 5 p.m.

Offices to be elected in the fall include County Clerk; Sheriff; Treasurer; Regional Superintendent of Schools; County Board Member Districts 3, 6, 8, 9, 10,17 and 19; and North Shore Sanitary Trustee Districts 3 and 5.

Lake County candidates file their petition packets at the Clerk's office from June 16 to 23, 2014. As always, it's recommended for candidates to seek competent legal counsel when completing petition packets.
