Property Tax Bills are in the Mail

I was just notified that our property tax bills are in the mail.  Click here to find out how much your taxes are.

I usually receive a number of calls about appealing property assessments when tax bills go out.  It's important to know that you can only appeal your property assessment once a year when you receive your property assessment notice in the late summer/early fall.  I will alert you when assessment notices go out.  If this email was forward to you, please signup for my e-newsletter to make sure you get this information as soon as it is available.

It's also very important to know that each taxing body on your bill has its own board that sets its own budget and tax levy.  The county has no authority in determining how much they budget and tax.  Many of these taxing bodies operate on a July 1 budget and thus will be holding public meetings on their proposed FY15 budgets in the coming weeks.   For more information, visit your taxing districts' websites.
