A large and complicated storm system will hit our area starting late Wednesday night and continue through Friday morning creating hazardous driving conditions, the potential for minor flooding, as well as strong, damaging winds that could lead to scattered power outages. Read News Release

Diamond/Sylvan Lake Diversion Project - New Sanitary Sewer Installation |
(Stone Fence Farms, Country Club Estates and Deerpath Residents) This week, Lake County Public Works will temporarily lower the water level in Evergreen Lake in order to install the new sanitary sewer pipe. As a safety precaution, they will install a temporary chain link fence while this work is in progress. Once the sanitary sewer has been installed, the water level in the lake will be returned to normal, the temporary fence will be removed and any necessary restoration of the surrounding area will be completed. Distracted driving has become an epidemic in Illinois. Over 6,000 crashes were caused by some form of driver distraction involving a cellphone from 2008-2012. Thirty of them were fatal. To help prevent this deadly problem, the use of hand-held cellphones while driving on Illinois roads is now illegal, and police are out in full force. Learn More
