Open faculty meeting on Thursday 23 February
 USD-COHE is hosting a meeting open to all faculty on Thursday 23 February from 4-5:30 pm in MUC Room 216-A. The contract imposed by the Board of Regents and made effective on 1January 2012 followed a prolonged series of negotiations and ultimately impasse. The contract language impacts all faculty in many different ways from having pay changed from a 9 month to 12 month payout, the introduction of a series of lecturer and librarian ranks along with the traditional professoriate ranks, and changes in grievance procedures. The statewide COHE President Gary Aguiar and probably SDEA Uniserv Directgor Loren Paul will be visiting the USD Campus for an open faculty meeting on Thursday 23 February from 4-5:30 pm in the MUC, Room 216-A to discuss how the contract terms impact faculty. You are welcome and encouraged to come at any time during this meeting to visit with your COHE representatives at both the state and local level and to voice your concerns regarding the contract and how it affects you. Since the Board and COHE are at impasse, we will begin new contract negotiations this March. Your COHE officers want your input on issues you would like to have addressed during the new rounds of negotiations. |
