Election Recap
Yesterday's election outcome is a victory for our entire state and all those believing in the equal opportunity and free enterprise philosophy of the Merit Shop. Michigan is moving forward by embracing the principles of fair and open competition through which the individual may achieve limitless possibilities.

Congratulations to Gov. Snyder and the impressive group of men and women elected to the state legislature last night.

Here's to continued momentum, greater opportunity and leading the nation to the benefit of everyone who lives and works in the great State of Michigan.
The ABC of Michigan Political Action Committee expended funds wisely this year, with a 93% win rate for expenditures. Thank you all for your continued efforts to make sure that Michigan hears the voice of the Merit Shop!
Statewide Offices
Governor Rick Snyder and Lt. Governor Brian Calley retained their offices for another four years, fending off a challenge from former legislator Mark Schauer and his running mate, Oakland County Clerk Lisa Brown. Snyder and Calley were ABC-endorsed.

Attorney General Bill Schuette held on to his seat as well, defeating attorney Mark Totten. Schuette had been endorsed by ABC.

Current Secretary of State Ruth Johnson, also endorsed by ABC, retained her position for another term.

In the Supreme Court races, ABC-endorsed candidates won two out of three seats. Incumbent Justices Brian Zahra and David Viviano both retained their seats; while Judge James Redford fell slightly short of attaining a seat on the high court.

Only one of the ABC-endorsed University Board candidates won a seat: Melanie Foster ousted incumbent Michigan State University Trustee Faylene Owens. The five remaining seats on the ballot went to non-ABC endorsed Democrats.

Similarly, the State Board of Election remained elusive this year; ABC-endorsed Maria Carl and Jonathan T. Williams did not succeed in their attempts.
Federal Offices
Michigan's open Senate seat went to Democrat Gary Peters, with ABC-endorsed Terri Lynn Land falling short this cycle.

In the US House of Representatives races, there were no major upsets, with ABC-endorsed candidates taking the majority of seats, including:

House District 1: Rep. Dan Benishek (incumbent)
House District 2: Rep. Bill Huizenga (incumbent)
House District 3: Rep. Justin Amash (incumbent)
House District 4: John Moolenaar
House District 6: Rep. Fred Upton (incumbent)
House District 7: Rep. Tim Walberg (incumbent)
House District 8: Mike Bishop
House District 10: Rep. Candice Miller (incumbent)
House District 11: Dave Trott
