Successful leaders often say that avoiding political situations helped them reach the top.  However, in situations where avoiding a political environment is not realistic, you can still communicate effectively through a combination of advocacy (forceful debate intended to influence others) and inquiry (the act of seeking information, truth or knowledge through questioning).  When inquiry and advocacy are combined, the goal is to find the best reasoning.
