Greetings!

We wish each JA student, educator, volunteer, institution and sponsor the very best on the occasion of Teacher's Day (5 September 2014).

JA initiated India operations on 6 September 2006. This day we complete 8 years of presence in India. Over these years, 350,000+ students have been reached across a cumulative of 450+ academic institutions through more than 10,000 volunteering instances. In the 8 years, JA India operations evolved, instance by instance, to arrive at its now singular focus on work readiness programs. JA India now has a repertoire of work-readiness programs that engages student from Grade V through Grade IX.

Closer to 2012, we commenced measuring the efficacy of the JA India work readiness impact to sense if the JA student comprehends 'work', 'workplace', 'work role' and 'work readiness' better. We are happy to share that JA India work-readiness programs inculcate healthier and educated comprehension of work concepts in students. Having sensed the program efficacy with senior students (Grade IX), measurement systems have now been extended to JA Work and Interest (Grade VIII) program. Resources permitting, JA India team will be expanding the measurement process to JA Mini Factory Model (Grade V and VI) programs.

Further concentrating its efforts, commencing FY15, JA India has initiated the process of making a complete shift to the sequenced multi-staged implementation approach (Waterfall model). The waterfall model initiates the student into work readiness program at Grade V and then upgrades the student through a sequence of programs, year-on-year, till Grade IX. Given the planning and implementation demands placed by the waterfall model on ground operations, JA India is concentrating all its efforts towards a successful stabilization of the waterfall implementation model in ~ 60 institutions in Chennai, Mumbai, Pune and National Capital Region.

We take this opportunity to once again thank you for your support and interest in JA in India. We welcome you / your children / your friends / your institutions to sustain and deepen your engagement in developing aware attitudes towards work and workplaces.

Additional note: Responding to earlier expressions of interest, in FY15, on a limited basis, JA India will be considering receiving financial support from Individual Donors.
