JA World of Work event brings students and professionals together
On September 7th, 2013, around 350 students in Bangalore got the opportunity to meet professionals from diverse backgrounds and ask them some of the career questions at the top of their minds. "How do you decide what career to pursue?  and how do you go about it?" At the World of Work (WoW) event organised by Junior Achievement India, students studying in classes 8-10 at Sri Kumaran Children's Home, interacted with an illustrious set of professionals from fields as diverse as medicine, film technology, art, management studies and child rights.

Inspirational Experiences
Over the course of the session, our speakers talked about why they chose their career path, what makes them passionate about it and how they pursued it to
convert interest into knowledge. The students had many questions about what the professionals did in their day to day routine at work, what kind of people they interacted with and what skills helped them excel at their chosen careers. Speaking with professionals in person and hearing them talk about their experiences, brought to life all the thought and effort that goes into building a career as no amount of theory ever could.

"Helped me become better prepared. Seeing live examples of non-toppers succeed is very inspiring." - Class 8 Student
