On behalf of the JA India team and students, we wish you, and dear ones, Happy New Year 2013 !
This January we complete 6 years of classroom operations in India. In these 6 years, JA volunteers conducted workforce readiness programs for 225,000 students. Over April-December 2012, about 2,000+ JA volunteers conducted JA programs for 77,000 students in 245 schools across multiple cities, towns and villages in India. Year 2012 saw JA India students from 2006-07, now with the Industry, return to the classrooms as volunteers.
The JA India Volunteer, individually and collectively, is positively shaping young minds towards better work comprehension, application and attitude. More than 60% of JA India students say the programs are connecting their classroom to the real life; and contributing to their professional journey. Further, students feel the JA process is FUN!
We believe, more than the JA program, it is the volunteer who effects such change. It is this gratitude that we convey to each volunteer who invested their time in India's classrooms.
We are honored to share the JA India ROLL OF HONOR 2012. We thank each of the 2,000+ professionals for their effort in shaping India's future. We specially thank each JA FELLOW for their sustained and consistent contribution to building JA in India. To put it very simply, each JA FELLOW is an institution in themselves! We are glad they chose to offer their time for the JA India initiative.
More than 60 Corporates and institutions contributed to the 2012 volunteer pool. Deloitte (880 volunteers), Cognizant (635) , KPMG (230), ExxonMobil (70), Barclays (35) and Bechtel (25) emerged as our largest volunteering partners. Alongside the institutions, we are glad to be receiving the support from highly motivated individual volunteers (40) who have graciously devoted their time and attention to JA India classrooms.
Thank you once again for your support. We look forward to more in 2013.
