Greetings!
Happy New Year and here's wishing you a prosperous and healthy 2011! Every January, I get an influx of inquiries as people set their New Year's resolutions for self-improvement. Feel free to contact me with any questions you may have about you or your employees. For your convenience, I can meet with you and/or your staff at your workplace. Otherwise, we can arrange a complimentary telephone or web-conferencing meeting.
Due to the popular response last November, I will be providing another free webinar on Communication Skills in the Workplace. If there are any topics you would like to hear, please contact me. I will be announcing the new dates next month.

Visual Communication |
In a previous newsletter, I discussed the 3 V's of communication; Visual, Vocal, and Verbal. Here are some tips for Visual or Nonverbal aspects:
- Dress the part and look professional
- Stand with good posture, but not stiff
- Move with purpose; but do not pace or rock
- Keep hands out of your pockets; it's okay to keep them at your sides at times
- Use gestures to appear animated, but don't overuse them
- Maintain eye contact with all of your audience
- Keep your eyes open and focused, even when thinking about what you want to say
- Look for feedback from your audience
- Avoid fidgeting with a pen, pointer, remote control, your hair, your jewelry, change in your pocket, etc.
- Smile appropriately
If you video record yourself, you'll be amazed at what you will find. Turn off the sound and you can see what you are communicating visually!!! |
Interview on Communication and Leadership Styles |
