Back by popular demand (Reprints)

Over the years we have created a vast collection of decal sets that often fall out of demand or popularity. Like all things, what was hot is not...and what is not is now hot!

MDW Combo Door Boxcar From an MDC Kit

Model By Chris Palomarez

Sometimes even yesterday's model remains a personal favorite with a decent paint job and decals. I finished this model several years ago. It's a Model Die Casting FMC ABOX combo door boxcar. I changed the ribs between the door stops, and the door by adding another rib; a total of four instead of three, vs. the original ABOX model. There are much better starting points as far as accuracy today. However, this model still holds up under scrutiny, even with the dimensional errors. At the time there was no real alternative, I also had on hand everything needed for the project. Sometime just fresh paint, decals, a few wire bent details, and a weathering job is all yesterday's model needs for being a contemporary model, today!
