Modeling the Rock Island E8
Model By John Tyson
 | I used set 87-18 for the bulk of the decals. An older set of 87-230 (in a blue envelope) decals were used for the number boards. That set looks to have been revised, so I can't confirm the same numbers still exist on the sheet. ACI labels came from set MC-4280. The numbers on the rear door came from an old set of BN decals from Accucal. I used MicroSol and MicroSet for decal application. I also used Microscale Kristal Klear to add "glass" to the wind deflectors and rear door window. I used it to secure the glass and lenses on the shell and I also used it to secure the etched Farr grills to the side of the unit as an experiment. I've never used it for that, so I don't know how it will work long term(one may also use MicroBond for metal to plastic adhesion).
