Cincinnati, Miami Valley to present workshops
This fall the neighboring presbyteries of Cincinnati and Miami Valley join efforts to present two educational and spiritual events.

Mission in the City: innovative approaches
Monday, September 8, 6:00-8:30pm
light dinner (free-will offering) at 6:00pm
First Presbyterian Church, Middletown, OH

The Rev. Bill Golderer, founding pastor and convener of the Broad Street Ministry in Philadelphia, along with the Rev. Andy Greenhow from BSM's staff, discuss new and open ideas of transformation and mission, and ways for your congregation to take part.

BSM is an innovative ministry emphasizing hospitable outreach, civic involvement, and creative expression.

Celebrating the Glory to God Presbyterian Hymnal
Saturday, October 18, 11:30 A.M.-3:30 P.M.
Lakeside Presbyterian Church, Lakeside Park, KY


Dr. Walter Brueggemann keynotes a celebration event about the new Presbyterian hymnal project, Glory to God. Dr. Brueggemann is one of the most provocative writers and speakers of our time on biblical and theological matters. This event, which begins with lunch, will focus on hymnology and offer opportunities to experience the many joys of singing and exploring the new hymnal's rich resources.  

Dr. Brueggemann is William Marcellus McPheeters Professor Emeritus of Old Testament at Columbia Theological Seminary. He is a past president of the Society of Biblical Literature and an ordained minister in the United Church of Christ.

Evangelism and Church Growth Conference  

August 11-14, St. Pete Beach, Florida

This year's theme is Go Disciple Live, which comes from Matthew 28:18-20 (The Great Commission) where Jesus encourages his earliest followers to go into the world and make disciples, teaching them to practice all that Jesus commanded. The event is sponsored by the Evangelism and Church Growth ministry of the Presbyterian Mission Agency. more... 


POAMN/ARMSS Joint Conference

October 14-17, Excelsior Springs, Missouri
Come 'B' Refreshed is the theme of the joint conference of the Presbyterian Older Adult Ministries Network (POAMN) and the Association of Retired Ministers, Their Spouses or Survivors (ARMSS). POAMN offers partial scholarships to attend the conference.  Both first time attendee and small church scholarships are available.

 

POAMN is a network of persons who are engaged in ministry with older adults. These people work in presbyteries and synods, they are leaders in congregations, and some serve in specialized ministries such as chaplains in care facilities and presbytery staff who are involved with older adult ministry committees. more...

Faith in Our Music - September 23-25

Union Presbyterian Seminary, Richmond, Virginia 

This three-day conference will combine diverse worship experiences with interesting, relevant workshops to help pastors, musicians, worship committees, and anyone who loves music to experience the wide varieties of music available to us in worship.  The conference will feature John Bell from the Iona Community in Scotland; Warren Cooper, who writes and performs sacred jazz music; and Amanda Powell, whose specialty is global music. more... 

  

Small Churches: Adventures in Vitality - November 3-5

Columbia Theological Seminary, Decatur, Georgia 

The Center for Lifelong Learning will offer "Small Churches: Adventures in Vitality" as part of its innovative programs focusing on church leadership. This program is for leaders of congregations with fewer than 150 members. more...
