Presbytery to explore, question, be changed

In upcoming weeks, congregations are providing opportunties for the presbytery to "be transformed by the renewing of your minds..." (Romans 12:2).

November 3 at Greenhills

In celebration of its 75th anniversary, the conregation invites everyone to Look out the Window: a Vision of the Church in the Future with keynote speaker Sarah Melcher.

November 6 at Christ Church UCC in Ft. Thomas

Four congregations, including First Presbyterian in Ft. Thomas, are sponsoring an opportunity to explore the question "Where are the Young Adults?" facilitated by Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) young adult catalyst Rob Fohr.

November 15-17 at Knox

The inaugural Tom York Lecture Series presents A Weekend with Author and Speaker Philip Gulley. Gulley wrote The Evolution of Faith: How God is Creating a Better Christianity.

November 16 at Knox

PRESBYTERIAN YOUTH CONNECTION RETREAT

PYC is holding a Fall Retreat for youth from around the presbytery and their adult leaders. Jorge Sayago-Gonzalez will lead worship and music.

Joys & Concerns

Members of the presbytery's Storm Relief Mission Network will be spending Oct 27 - Nov 2 in Matawan, New Jersey to help rebuild homes damaged by last year's superstorm.

Deborah Uchtman (stated supply, Bethel Murdoch) and her husband Ron request prayers on behalf of their son, Chris. Chris has been diagnosed with melanoma and had surgery to remove the cancer. While the surgeon feels that Chris is now free of cancer, there are still many decisions Chris must make for his future treatment.

Russell Heidenreich, father of Presbytery of Cincinnati Moderator Rob Heidenreich (ruling elder, Covenant-First), died October 23. A memorial service followed by a light lunch/reception will be held Saturday, November 9 beginning at 11:00 a.m. at the chapel of Llanfair Retirement Community in Cincinnati.

Searches for pastoral leaders

The Community of Faith session has invited the Rev. Sharon Carter to provide pastoral services while the pastor nominating committee searches for an installed pastor. Sharon comes to us from the Presbytery of East Tennessee.

CIF --> MIF

General Assembly's Church Leadership Connection (CLC) has expanded its online call system to include various types of ministry opportunties, not just those with congregations.  Consequently, the old "church information form" (CIF) has changed to the new  "ministry information form"  (MIF).

MIFs have recently been posted by two congregations of the presbytery: Community of Faith and Knox, each of which is searching for a pastor.

Links to MIFs plus information about other opportunities for service can be found on the presbytery website as well as the CLC site.
