Ernesto Badillo and his family. May God comfort family and friends on the hope of the resurrection. The Synod of the Covenant received this news this morning from the Presbytery of West Jersey: "The Presbytery of West Jersey celebrates the life and mourns the death of the Rev. Ernesto Badillo who completed his Baptism and entered life eternal on Sunday, April 26, 2015. Ernesto Badillo Jr. joined the Board (of Pensions) in September 1992. In addition to serving as a Regional Representative, he has also served as Account Executive, Affiliated Benefits Program; Manager, Regional Service team; and Regional Administrator, Member Services. Ernesto was pastor of the Presbyterian Church of Old San Juan, Puerto Rico, before joining the Board. In his presbyteries, he has served on the Council, Permanent Judicial Commission, and Finance Committee. He also served as chairperson of the Personnel Committee of the Synod of Boriquen (Puerto Rico) and on a General Assembly Stated Clerk Nomination Committee. Ernesto serves presbyteries in Puerto Rico, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. He also supports the Board's Spanish-speaking membership and the pensioners, dependents, and survivors residing in Cuba.
