If you have some rooms that are underused,
just imagine what we could do for you.

Image: Before Dining RoomDiane and Mike never used their living room and rarely used their dining room. It was too sad to see those bright open spaces go to waste. We came to the rescue and came up with a plan.

A dining room typically has a lot of hard surfaces and very little texture or pattern. We solved that problem by adding two different upholstered chairs around a dark wood table. A silver buffet made the room even more interesting. Since we chose a narrower table, we even had room on the opposite side for another small table to help with serving. The striped rug added to the drama. Textured window treatment panels from floor to ceiling made the windows seem taller and wider.

It looked stuffy. Diane and Mike are anything but that. The dark colors and flowers just weren't working anymore. The first thing that we did was neutralize her color palette. Soothing tans, grays and beiges just felt right. They were more inviting and soothing.

In this long narrow room we even had room for a game table where they could play board games with their grandson. Furniture was moved into the room and no longer lined the walls to create a cozy conversation area. Now this room draws them in and it is a great place to entertain.

Designer Secrets
Windows look so much taller and wider with panels to the floor. These fabric panels just frame the window—they do not block any of the light or interrupt the view.

For privacy and sun protection, we added fabric roller shades. Window treatments are just the crowning touch when done right.
