When there is a view as spectacular as the one from
10 Rittenhouse, everything revolves around that. Day or night.

Image: Before Family RoomVisitors as well as the homeowners enjoy every aspect of this wonderful living room with seating in a conversational arrangement.

The family room was spacious enough to handle the large round table that we found in this home. Yet, when seated at the table, our backs were to the scenery on one side and blocked by the large chairs even when facing the window. The solution was to switch to a rectangular table with a glass top. By positioning the table against the window, everyone seated here can not only enjoy looking out, they can also enjoy the conversation with friends and family in the room. Elegant upholstered chairs soften the hard edges and invite people to linger.

Just a few well-placed accessories add character and reflect the personalities of those who live here.  Window treatments only soften the window and do not intrude or close off the light. Cube ottomans provide a place for snacks or an opportunity to kick back and put your feet up.

When placing accessories–less is usually more. And bigger is often better. When we moved the foyer table to the area behind the sofa, it not only gave the room a more intimate feel, it also made room for a few impressive accent pieces. The large carved horse adds personality, the plant adds life and the lamp adds light. This particular window does not have the optimal view, so we brought the interest inside. What does your room need to make it just a little more interesting?
