I am a firm believer that every room in your home should have a purpose! That purpose can change over the years and it often does. Renee and Darrell knew when they built their house that they did not want a formal living room. Instead they opted to use the smaller room in the front of their house as the dining room and make the larger room in the back a sunroom filled with beautiful shuttered windows. While their son Griffin was still young, he used the room as a playroom. It worked great for the family because it was close to the kitchen and it was a bright, sunny place for him to play. When Griffin outgrew some of his toys and started using the room for his homework and a nice place to read, Renee and Darrell decided the make the room what they always envisioned. A nice sunny reading spot for the entire family.

The yellow paint made Renee smile, so we began by choosing very soothing colors to compliment that. Comfortable upholstered furniture was added with a special cozy chair and ottoman for Renee! She just loves this chair. We kept the accessories and artwork to a minimum and added lamps to keep that light warm feeling in the room even at night.
We replaced the temporary furniture in the dining room with a large round table and soft upholstered chairs to create an area where guests will want to linger. Grasscloth wallpaper added texture to the walls that complimented the existing drapes. The dining room is open to the sunroom and provides a great place to entertain.
Every day now, the whole family has the chance to enjoy the sunroom for reading, conversation and enjoying each other's company. Let us help you discover a purpose for every room in your home.
