When you enter the foyer at Michelle and Jon's lovely home, the first thing that you see is the dining room. The contemporary layout features a lovely view of the back yard, directly in front of you. They carefully chose some great furniture, yet it just seemed empty. Even the faux finish that they included didn't quite warm up the room yet.
Having worked with Michelle and Jon a couple years ago in their living room, we were delighted to be called back to finish the look that they had started in their dining room.

Since we didn't want to hide the view or limit any of the light that came in to this room, we proposed to soften the view with some elegant paisley fabric. This fabric simply framed the window and softened the solid surfaces.
The long wall opposite the sideboard was calling out for a very special piece of artwork. And since their tastes included very eclectic choices, we found a contemporary metal wall sculpture that is spectacular. A round mirror above the sideboard was all that was needed to complete the walls.
Michele was clear that she didn't want flowers on the table. We were more than happy to accommodate her with three jars on a tray.
A rug under the table and in the foyer leading up to this room took out the last of the echoes. The result is a room that not only welcomes Jon and Michele and their two daughters. Friends and family are welcomed in to this very special home.
