Interfaith Refugees Ministries in New Bern are asking for your help. Five refugee families from Burma were displaced from their homes in New Bern on Wednesday, June 18. Some families are being housed with friends.  Others, thanks to the generosity of Pastor Jim Tosto, Faith United Methodist Church, are being housed in the church's Scout building.  They will soon be moving into new apartments and will need household items and furniture.  The Red Cross will issue vouchers, but the need is great.  Donations of furniture, kitchen items and other needs for households are welcome. If you are too far to easily drop off household items at the IRM office (1233 Colony Drive, New Bern, 28562), donations of cash or gift cards are gladly accepted. For convenience, Paypal donations are accepted. You do not need a Paypal account to donate. Checks may be made out to Interfaith Refugee Ministry with "Fire" on the memo line and mailed to 1233 Colony Drive, New Bern, 28562.  Please contact Susan Husson, Executive Director, at 252-633-9009 for more information.
