Episcopal Relief & Development Update

The Diocesan Network Coordinator attended the Episcopal Relief & Development Network Managers meeting in Atlanta last week and is excited to share with parish reps information and tools he has gained to enhance the ability of Network Coordinator and Parish Reps to better serve in this ministry.

Episcopal Relief & Development is entering the 75th year anniversary of "healing a hurting world".  During the next twelve months there will be a lot of information being disseminated throughout the Diocese about Episcopal Relief & Development's goals for this celebration and our role to accomplish them.  To keep all parish reps included in the flow of information and our important role in this process, the Diocesan Coordinator is requesting all parish representatives to update their contact information by May 31, 2014.   You may do so via email (tjwarren@bellsouth.net) or telephone (910-371-2353).

Thanking you all for your service to this ministry.

Prayerfully

Thomas L. Warren, Diocesan Coordinator

Nominees offer prayers and support to Bishop-elect Skirving

From Rev. Mimi Lacy:
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, It was a privilege to be part of the discernment process for the 8th Bishop of East Carolina. Your prayers and your kind words of support were -and continue to be- a blessing; thank you! My hope is that the excitement and energy present throughout the process continues as Rob takes his place among us, and that we move ahead with creativity and enthusiasm, ready to do the work that God has given us to do. With that in mind I will continue to pray for Rob and his wife Sandy, as well as the congregations and ministries throughout the Diocese. I am deeply grateful for the people of St. Timothy's and the ability to work in such a wonderful and gracious place. I am thankful for Stephen and Jan Smith and David and Emily Pfaff for their participation in the discernment process. And I am still amazed at the fantastic work and professionalism of both the Search and Nominating and Transition Committees. May the Holy Spirit continue to inspire, guide and bless us all in the weeks and months ahead.

Faithfully yours, The Very Rev. Mimi Lacy

From Rev. Canon David Pfaff:
Dear Rob and Sandy: Emily and I join in sending our heartfelt congratulations on your election. We will continue to keep you in our prayers during this next phase of the transition. We will also continue to pray for the Diocese of East Carolina, as its people prepare for a new chapter in their ministry, and in your company. It has been a privilege to travel part of this journey with you both, and we hope and pray that your unfolding life and ministry in East Carolina will be full of joy and surprise as you settle amongst very loving people in beautiful surroundings.

May God bless your ministry as you go forward,
The Rev. Canon David Pfaff

From Rev. Dr. Stephen Smith:
Congratulations to the people of the Diocese of East Carolina on electing Rob Skirving as your eighth bishop. You truly have a talented person elected to lead you. And having spent a week in the Diocese I know that together you have the energy and enthusiasm to make great things happen. I was thrilled to have been a part of the process. God's blessings to you all.

Faithfully: The Rev. Dr. Stephen Smith
