Church of the Servant, Wilmington is looking for a new organist/choir director. Inquiries should be sent to rector@cosepiscopal.com.
 

St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Oriental is looking for a Choir Director. Salary is $100 per week. There is an organist and pianist in place. Please call Dick AhKao, Senior Warden, at 252-249-2857 or Jean White at 252-249-6588 if qualified and interested in the position.

Members of the Diocese will have the opportunity to meet the nominees for the 8th Bishop of East Carolina the week of April 28th. Clergy and lay delegates to the electing Convention are strongly encouraged to attend at least one WalkAbout. The events are open to anyone in the diocese. Each WalkAbout begins at 7:00pm. The WalkAbouts are the central feature of a week-long tour of the Diocese of East Carolina. Nominees will arrive in Fayetteville on Sunday, April 27. They will visit the Episcopal Farmworkers Ministry in Newton Grove, Diocesan House, and Trinity Center as part of their visit, as well as many parishes along the way in an effort to show the nominees our outreach efforts, our strengths, our challenges, our diversity, our geography, our strong lay leadership, our Trinity Center, our military community, and most importantly, how we stand together as a part of the body of Christ.

Holy Cross, Wilmington says "Bring us your CLUTTER!"
 
Having a Spring clear out? Don't throw it out! Save it for the Holy Cross Yard Sale, coming May 3rd. A large section of the garage is available to accept donations immediately. They will be having 3 official "Donation Drops" on Saturday, April 19th and 26th from 10:00am to 2:00pm and on Friday, May 2nd from 4:00-7:00pm. Holy Cross is located at 5820 Myrtle Grove Road. St. Mark's Church, Wilmington will be celebrating their 145th Anniversary on April 25-27, 2014. Their message this year is "Commitment to Kingdom Building". The celebration will commence on April 25, 2014 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm with a Children's Sock Hop (free event). Girls don't forget you poodle skirts and saddle shoes! Guys wear your jeans and white tees! This will be a flash back to HAPPY DAYS. Bring your children out and join in this fun filled event. Continuing on Saturday, April 26, 2014, there will be an Adult Sock Hop (donation of $5.00) from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. On Sunday, April 27th, a fellowship dinner will be served from 2:30pm-3:30pm. At 4:00pm, the Rev. Jeremy Buie (a guest speaker) of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist in Riegelwood NC, will join the festivities. There will also be a spiritual dance with The Yams of Mt Olive A.M.E. Zion Church of Elizabethtown and Mr. Tyaun Bryant, a local Wilmington singer, will perform.  All are Welcome to join in this celebration. For more information please contact (910) 763-3858. On April 30, St. James Church, located at 25 S. 3rd Street, Wilmington, will be showing the documentary "The Harvest" in support of the Harvest for Hospitality, a campaign to benefit Episcopal Farmworker Ministry. During the movie there will be snacks made entirely from sweet potatoes. A brief discussion of the film will follow. For more information, please call the parish office at 910-763-1628....»

 

A Gala Affair will be held in the All Saints Hall at St. Peter's Church in Washington (101 N. Bonner St.) on Friday, May 2 from 7:00pm to 9:00pm. A $5 donation will be your ticket to an evening of music, wine, hors d'oeuvres, and a silent auction! This event will benefit the Episcopal Church Women Outreach programs.
