St. Patrick's Day:
Did you know?

The man who became known as St. Patrick was not born in Ireland but in southwest Britain around 390AD. He was kidnapped by Irish pirates at 16 and sold into slavery. He had not been devoted to the church before being taken but spent that six years in prayer for help. After he escaped or was freed, he studied the bible and eventually joined the priesthood.

Patrick went back to Ireland in 435AD as a bishop, built a school, and led many missionary journeys. To read more, please visit St. Patrick's page at The Lectionary here.
