On Friday, March 7, this little lady paid the Diocesan House staff a visit. The red fox was first spotted in the center of the patio under the tree and then later curled up by the back window near the Bishop's Chapel. She has since wandered away. It must be spring!

We have just completed our diocesan medical mission work at Jimani, Dominican Republic, where we served 714 patients over the course of the week. Jimani's St. Paul's Episcopal Church (Iglesia Episcopal San Pablo Apostol Jimani) served as our clinic facility.  It was refreshing to hear the happy sound of children next door in the local Episcopal school.

Please read the rest of the report and view more images at the Diocesan website...»

The Medical Mission Team in Jimani, Dominican Republic

The MDG Committee has donated funds to  US (United Society, previously USPG) in England to help support the Rapid Response Fund for Syria. The Syrian crisis began after protesters called for the release of political prisoners in March 2011. The Syrian goverment responded to the continued anti-government/pro-democracy protests with an armed response which has turned into a civil war. The UN reports that more than 2 million Syrians are registered as refugees and half of these are children, most under the age of 11. US teamed up with Embrace the Middle East to provide basic education to the refugee children, along with other support including food distribution. The donations that are given to the US Rapid Response Fund Syria Appeal will help build a school and get the children back into a classroom to continue their education surrounded by teachers from the refugee population*.

A big Thank You goes to the MDG committee for gathering these funds and helping a wonderful cause.
