DEADLINES
-Early Bird Registration ends January 17
   The cost of early bird registration is $140.    
   After January 17th the registration cost is $200.

-Group rate deadline for hotel reservations at the Courtyard by Marriot is January 17!
 
-Rooms are still available at the Doubletree Hilton. The rate is now $139.00.

FYI
-The East Carolina Youth Council for Mission on Convention asks you to bring in ONE pair of new white socks. This will engage the Mark of Mission #3:

"To respond to human need by loving service."

Upcoming Events

Tracy Register, Lower Cape Fear Hospice & Life Care Center Community Outreach Coordinator, will present "Hospice 101",  a program that discusses end of life care and planning, on  January 22 at 1:30pm in the Fellowship Hall at St. Paul's Episcopal Church located at 16 N. 16th Street, Wilmington. Ms. Register will be discussing the details of hospice care and support and the importance of advance care planning for those of all ages. A question and answer period will follow. This is a free educational event. For questions, please call the parish office at 910-762-4578.

Beginning February 3rd, All Saints Episcopal Church, Southern Shores, is hosting its fifth year of evening classes on a wide variety of fascinating topics open to the entire community. The program, After Dark @ All Saints, runs for the four weeks of February 2014, beginning February 3, and will be held in the church's facilities at 40 Pintail Trail, behind the Southern Shores Fire Department, across from Kitty Hawk Elementary School. A total of 70 classes will be offered. Course fees are $20 per person, $10 for 18 and under. Some courses have additional fees for supplies. On Saturday, February 15 at 7:00pm, come to Church of the Servant (4925 Oriole Drive, Wilmington) to enjoy Wilmington's own Grenoldo Frazier - vocalist and piano showman extraordinaire. "He can play anything that's ever been written, and his real ability is the fact that he creates true theater out of the simple elements of a man and a piano.  If he's got an audience, he's going to rev it up and have a great show." (Star News) Learn more about Mr. Frazier here.
Light refreshments will be served. Ticket are $20 per person and available in advance through the church web site and at the door. 
 

The 5th Annual Acolyte Festival will be March 28-30, 2014 at St. Andrew's by the Sea in Nags Head (4212 S. Virginia Dare Trail). This year's special guest is the Rev'd Paul Canady from Christ Church in New Bern.

History Day 2014 will be Saturday, June 7th at The Church of the Holy Cross in Valle Crucis, in the Diocese of Western North Carolina. History Day 2014 will feature people and projects representative of 19th-century mission work in North Carolina's remote mountain areas.
