St. Mark's Church in Wilmington granted a simple wish for one parishioner. Mrs. Mary Smith was pleasantly surprised to see that many women came to the December 22nd service in their Sunday best hats, as she had previously requested. After the service, the Sunday School class visited the Fannie Norwood Nursing Home to deliver gifts and sing carols. Mrs. Smith is a resident at the facility and she spoke with other residents about being a member of St. Mark's Church after the caroling.  It was a wonderful time of fellowship for everyone.

The Rev. John Carlisto, rector at St. Paul's Church in Beaufort, received the "2013 Board Member of the Year" award for his dedicated service as a member of the board of the Boys and Girls Club of Coastal Carolina. Father Carlisto was one of many nominees across the state who had a major impact on their local club chapter. We congratulate Father Carlisto and give thanks for his ministry in the Diocese of East Carolina. Please read more in the article from the Boys and Girls Club newsletter here.
