A Christmastide Service of Solace Thursday, December 19, 2013, 7:00pm, Christ Church, New Bern 320 Pollock St.   The Service of Solace offers a time of silence and prayer, a variety of music, readings from Scripture, and the hope we share in Holy Communion. Those who are grieiving and may not be able to feel the "merry" in Merry Christmas this year, and friends who support them, are invited to participate in a liturgy that speaks of the love God has for those of us who grieve. You are invited to bring cherished photos and objects of remembrance that comfort you. Sitting together in warmth and love we can listen for the One who loves us in sorrow and in joy, sharing a new way of being in the Christmas season. I hope you will be able to join us in this very special time of Offered to the glory of God for the people of God. Sponsored by the Stephen Ministers of New Bern for New Bern and surrounding communities....»

A Successful Fashion Show at
St. Mark's, Wilmington

On November 23, St. Mark's Sunday School sponsored a successful Hair & Heel Fashion Show. With the help of the community, the parish was able to raise enough funds to donate $150.00 to Thompson Family & Friends Focus, purchase a gift for Fannie Norwood, as well as take the children on a fieldtrip to Mike's Farm! They enjoyed a hay ride and the Mike's Farm Christmas Light Show, which depicted the Shepherd in the Fields, Three Wiseman and a live Nativity Scene. Thank you to all those who showed support for this effort.
