Grants awarded to Diocesan
Campus Ministry Programs

The Diocese of East Carolina was awarded two Program Grants from The Episcopal Church for Campus Ministry.  The Well: Episcopal Lutheran Campus Ministry in Greenville was awarded $3,500 and Episcopal Campus Ministry in Wilmington was awarded $4,500.   We are thankful for these funds and the possibilities they open up for both Campus Ministry Programs.

Members of the Sue DuVal Daughters of the Pamlico chapter of the Daughters of the King took a road trip recently to visit historic churches in neighboring Bertie County. The members met at Hope Plantation for Morning Prayer and a guided tour of the plantation. Next they went to St. Thomas, Windsor, where they were joined by parishioner Mary Credle, and her granddaughter. After Noon Day Prayer in the church, Mary spoke about the history of St. Thomas, and shared some interesting stories of early parishioners. The Rev. Joe Cooper served a delicious lunch and took the group on a tour of Avoca Chapel and the graveyard where many of the Capehart family (ancestors of Fr. Cooper) are buried. This wonderful day concluded with Evening Prayer in the chapel at Avoca.

Members of the Sue DuVal Daughters of the Pamlico chapter of the Daughters of the King at St. Thomas, Windsor. L-R: Deb Ash, Lynda Lawson, Linda Lewis, Betty Eschenbauch, Robyn Farschon, The Rev. Joe Cooper, Vicki Paul, Carolyn Lewis, Barbara Rumley, and Mary Ann St. John.
