On Sunday, October 6, 2013, Church of the Advent, Williamston welcomed The Reverend J. Robert Spainhour as Priest in Charge. He was welcomed with a parish luncheon in the Parish Hall after his first service. 
Dicoesan Mission Training Conference
November 16, 2013 at Trinity Center

Come to Trinity Center to hear from the Dominican Development Group about ways to build your Mission Trip to the Dominican Republic. Presenters will share their own experiences and stories to help participants understand more of what to expect on a mission trip. To register, please fill out and return the registration form found on the event page at the Diocesan website. The registration fee of $10 covers lunch.

St. George's, Lake Landing invite all to
their Homecoming
 
Historic St. George's Church, located at 31655 Hwy. 264, in Lake Landing, will have their annual Homecoming Service for Sunday, November 3, 2013 at 11:00 a.m.  The Rev. Tom Midyette will be guest speaker.  All are welcome to attend this service and enjoy lunch in the Parish Hall following the service.

On Tuesday,  November 11, at 6:30 pm, St. Anne's, Jacksonville will hold a Veterans Day Service to honor all who have served our country in the Armed Forces.     "Doubting and Believing" is the topic for the 3rd Annual Epiphany Quiet Day at historic Christ Church, New Bern, on November 16 at 9:00am. Holy Eucharist will be celebrated at 9:30am. All are welcome and asked to bring their own lunch. Beverages and desserts will be provided at about 12:30pm after the meditation sessions. Leading this year's Quiet Day will be Professor Ken Rowe, new resident of New Bern and member of Christ Church.  Professor Rowe is a retired Professor of Church History and Liturgical Studies at Drew University Theological School in Madison, New Jersey. Professor Rowe will focus on the work of major 20th century poet R. S. Thomas, who was nominated for the Nobel Prize in literature in 1996.  Thomas was also a priest of the Anglican Communion in his native Wales, and his poetry reflects his struggle with faith and with doubt.
