Baptismal Font to New Home
 
Mr. Jim Warren, a parishioner at St. John's, Wilmington, is
looking for a new home for the pictured baptismal font. The basin is removable for washing and the body is oak. The body is approximately 30" x 30" square and 35" tall.  

If you know of anyone interested, please contact Mr. Warren at 910-619-9002, or his sister, Mrs. Beth Bordeaux at 919-624-8435.

Bishop and Anne Daniel are the very proud grandparents of a new grandson, William Campbell Zajac, son of Elizabeth and Jared, born Monday morning (Sept. 9) at 2:00 a.m, weighing 8 lbs, 13 oz. Mom and baby are both doing well!

The Episcopal Church Women (ECW) of St. Mark's Church (600 Grace Street, Wilmington) will observe Women's Day on Sunday, September 15, 2013 at 11:00 am. The keynote speaker is Valita Quattlebaum, the Chief Communications Officer of New Hanover County Schools. Mrs. Quattlebaum is an experienced public relations professional and consultant. She also is a lay minister, author and life coach who speaks at churches and presents workshops and conferences. The public is cordially invited to attend the Women's Day Program. Come for the Jazz talents of Shableek at the "Jazz on the River" event hosted by St. Mark's, Wilmington. This event will be held at the Hilton Wilmington Riverside (301 N. Water Street) on Saturday, September 8th from 7:00pm to 10:00pm. Tickets are $40. Dress attire is semi-formal. St. Thomas, Bath, 101 Craven Street, is having a Tag Sale, October 5th beginning at 8:00am, with a pre-sale Friday, October 4th from 5:30-8:00pm. A donation of $15 per person or $25 per couple will be accepted for the pre-sale at the door. Items available include new and used furniture, accessories, handmade items, and gift baskets! The Committee on History & Archives of the Diocese of North Carolina is sponsoring a one-day workshop on Saturday, October 5, at St. Matthew's, located at 210 St. Mary's Road in Hillsborough, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  Communities and personalities differ, so even two churches organized in the same time period or located in the same town are never identical. All congregations face the common challenges of preserving their records and giving them some organization, and all need to say something about their congregational origins and development. To register, please contact Lynn Hoke at lynn.hoke@episdionc.org
