Assalamu Alaikum
Dear Family & Friends of ICSC,
In recent days, the Islamic Center has been hard at work developing enriching and fun new programs to offer you and your families. Whether you are interested in spiritual deepenings, interfaith gatherings, or kid-friendly programs - we are hopeful that you will find benefit in our Islamic Center classes, programs and events.
Join us tonight at 7:30 p.m., as we kick off our newest monthly event, "Family Movie Night," hosted by the ICSC Social Services committee. One Friday each month, the committee will organize a family-friendly movie screening here at the Center. This month we will watch Disney's "The Jungle Book." Snacks and refreshments will be available for purchase. If you're looking for more events like this, meet us in Pasadena next Friday, March 17, from 6 - 9:30 p.m. for another new, recurring family program, "Muslim Family Night." This is an Islamic Center initiaitive that will be hosted twice a month at New Horizon School Pasadena. Please help us spread word of this event!
As we move into Sunday, our youth kick things up a notch. 21st Century Muslims will meet at 10 a.m. for session 3 of their series, "Brain and Free Will." This week's segment will be facilitated by Ibrahim Mohamed and is titled, "How Judgements Occur." And the learning continues for our high school youth in MYG at noon when Edina Lekovic visits to explain "The Role of Women in Islam from a socio-political perspective." This segment is timely with the recent celebration of International Women's Day on Wednesday, March 8.
We'll close out the day at noon, with a presentation by Hassan Zeenni about the dynamic roles that "Faith, Religion, and Spirituality" play in our lives. We hope to see you and your loved ones this weekend.
In peace,
Islamic Center of Southern California
