Assalamu Alaikum

Dear Family & Friends of ICSC,

Thank you for coming out to support our Spiritual Night program and the interfaith march, "In the Path of the Prophet Abraham." We had a beautiful weekend and look forward to sharing more events with our community in the near future.

We had approximately 250 people present for Spiritual Night program, where we celebrated the topic, "Serving Humanity...A Way of Life", by listening to some insightful thoughts from Tariq Aquil and Marwa Abdelghani. Tariq reminded us, "Always try to look for the best side of every situation. We're told by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) that it's always best to take the good side. We need to be the leaders, the ones who always seek to see the good in things." Following our prayer and reflection, we all shared a dinner from Shish Mediterranean and socialized. Stay tuned for our next Spiritual Night and come join the fun!

Speakers: Tariq Aquil & Marwa Abdelghani

The Interfaith March was also a great success. On a weekend that forecasted rain, Allah blessed us with a sunny sky and approximately 350 Muslim, Jewish, and Christian brothers and sisters who marched from Wilshire Blvd. Temple to our Islamic Center. We had inspiring speakers along the way and wrapped up the event with a closing ceremony and refreshments at ICSC. Check out our Facebook page for more pictures from the event and search our event hashtag #interfaithmarchla to see photos that others may have posted.

ICSC Food Pantrypantry
by Dr. Karima Hirani

On March 4th, we volunteered at the LA Food Bank. About 15 of us from the ICSC Food Pantry group showed up to package approximately 14,000 pounds of food that will go to feed 11,000 people who are hungry in Los Angeles. The Food Bank staff told us that the amount of food we packaged is normally completed by eighty volunteers, not fifteen. Alhamdulillah. We worked very hard and I am so proud of our volunteers. It was an incredibly rewarding experience. Our group wants to volunteer there again soon and insha'Allah we hope to get more volunteers next time.
