Where's Waldo?

Don't Play Hide-N-Seek With Your Business

Are you familiar with the children's game, Where's Waldo? A silly-dressed man is hidden among people, places and things and we have to find him. Some people treat their business as if it's a Waldo - operating in relative obscurity and wondering why they don't have more customers.

Now we're not advocating you spend a gazillion dollars on advertising, marketing and networking, but what we are saying is you need to keep your company visible enough that your potential customers can find you without getting eyestrain.

When we're hunting for Waldo, we look for his striped shirt and round glasses because he's always wearing them. Likewise, your company needs to be consistent in its advertising, marketing and networking efforts. Similar promotions in the same kinds of venues encourage brand recognition, and when a potential customer remembers your product or service but can't remember your name - they may well remember where to go look for you.

As it is for most things in life, consistency matters. If you join a professional organization, don't just pay your dues - participate. If you opt for print advertising, don't just run it once - repeat repeat repeat (do you hear that echo?). When something positive happens for your business - publicize it. Self-promotion is never a sin when it's done with a generous spirit.

You know, it's not a coincidence that figuring out how to effectively promote your company is referred to as 'formulating a game plan'. Whatever you decide, avoid hide-n-seek and certainly don't be a Waldo. Keep your company visible and stay involved in the community. If you follow this particular game plan, you may well find yourself shouting BINGO! when your company achieves its growth projections.
New in Essential Elements™

As our goal is always to save you time, we're now allowing all licensees to customize the content of the Activity Form*! hat way if you have a list of tasks you do repeatedly, you can have checkboxes instead of having to hand type in the same things over and over. Or you can simply make it all blank and you can fill in what you want!

As you know, the Activity Form is one of the
best features in our Essential Elements™ software package! As you complete a task for a client, you fill out the Activity Form and it automatically sends the client an email telling him/her that you've completed a task on their behalf and that they can log into your software portal to view the details. Voila! Full transparency for your clients!

The biggest advantage of this feature for you, the business owner, is to keep your company visible and in the forefront of your client's minds so they will remember to delegate tasks to you. It does this in a non-threatening way - instead of constant emails that say 'how can we help you?', 'is there anything you need?', or some similar nagging to remind your clients to use you, this email lets your clients know you just did something helpful for them. The email includes the contact info for the person who did the work and that encourages your clients to use you again and again.

Creating Visibility
in Process

Brad Henry
(former Governor of Oklahoma) once said "No other investment yields as great a return as the investment in education. An educated workforce is the foundation of every community and the future of every economy."

Your business is a community, especially as it grows. And very often while entrepreneurs have great ideas and a drive to produce, they don't always know what they don't know.

When you invest in education and training, several things happen:
  1. You learn about what you don't know - or delve deeper into what you do know
  2. You look at your business in a whole new way
  3. By examining your processes, your foundation, the tools you use to run your business, you will gain insight (and thus visibility) into ways to improve the workings of your company which should, in turn, result in improved productivity which then translates into higher margins

As you know we offer consulting support and many training programs to small business owners all around the country. For August, we're extending the following promotion:
