Executive Director's Corner

It is my joy to thank everyone who had a part in planning and participating in my 50 years in the ministry party last month. I especially want to thank Diane Thompson, Don Williams, Rick Henson, Keith Grubbs, Perry Sanderford, and my wife, Omega, for their efforts in making it such a surprise for me and such a joyful occasion for my family and friends. Of course, this event caused me to reflect on the years that I have been on this marvelous journey. I was reminded of a song: "The longer I serve Him, the sweeter He grows." That is so true! I was also reminded of how many friends have touched my life and how they continue to bless me.
I would like to encourage you to become familiar with our significant ministry, Hands Up Outreach. This ministry is headed up by Roy and Mary Callahan. They are touching lives that our churches are not reaching. Of course, they are reaching out to prisons and the down and out persons in our county on behalf of our churches since they are a ministry of the Rankin Baptist Association. They have averaged 70 persons per year coming to confess Jesus as Lord and Savior. I am sending out letters to some friends of mine asking them to participate with me in helping this ministry. They are about $2,500 per month short of the budget that is needed to carry out their ministry. I am challenging my friends to consider joining me in contributing $1,000 to help overcome this shortfall. If you are able to make a contribution of any size, it would be greatly appreciated and you will be blessed for helping to touch hurting lives. You can make your checks payable to the Rankin Baptist Association designated for Hands Up Outreach.
Reaching out for Christ,
Allen Stephens

Crossview Note Burning

Five years ago, we moved into our new fellowship center owing $350,000.00. We, as a church, made pledges to pay it off in five years - we met that goal and we are debt free.
God was really good, and God's people met the challenge. We are very grateful for what HE has done.

Celebrate Recovery
Celebrate Recovery is designed to help hurting people. It is made up of regular folks, who are on a journey toward wholeness; seeking recovery from and celebrating God's healing of life's hurts, habits and hang-ups. Trained leaders provide safe, confidential, Christ-centered groups where people can grow. At Celebrate Recovery we believe that change is possible by the power of Jesus through this Biblical Discipleship program. Celebrate Recovery is for anyone with the courage to be honest about life's hurts, habits and hang-ups and who is willing to open their life to healing and change. West Rankin Celebrate Recovery meets on Thursday nights at 6:00 PM at the Grace Center in Richland. Please join us.

Love these FB posts
3-20-2016 What a day in the Lord's service at Oakdale! We had a teenage boy saved in our second service, 9 saved at the Mississippi children's home worship service this morning and seven saved this afternoon at the walnut grove correctional prison and our Sunday afternoon worship service. God still changes lives! Dr. Rick Henson, Oakdale The field is ready for harvest. We just have to be ready, willing, and prepared to go pick it. God allowed me to see another person surrender their life to Jesus tonight in genuine repentance and I have another brother. I'm watching husbands, wives, men, women surrender to Jesus. The impact that this has on the family unit is unbelievable and will impact generations. Jonathan Sherwin, Clear Branch What a day! HRBC all over the place. Great group ministered at Opportunity Center to the homeless, another great group of ladies gathered to paint door hangers as a fund raiser/ fellowship, another great group taught or practiced bible drills, another great group worked on wiring at "base camp", and i also got to visit Josh and meet several of his new friends, other kids fighting tooth and nail against cancer. What a day! Colossians Chapter 4 is our time investment today with ... our Father, serving Him by serving others is our talent investment, and tomorrow we give our tithes and our "For His Glory" offering to finish the new facility. i'm expecting a miracle as we all do our parts. i can hardly wait to give and to preach the word God has given me!!!
