EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR'S CORNER
Exciting things continue to happen in our Rankin Baptist Churches and in the Association! We will be voting on receiving two churches into full membership, and we have another requesting coming under Watchcare for the next year. The Exchange, the church plant in Pearl with Bryant May as pastor, has been steadily growing, and I believe it will be self-supporting before too long. We are also in the planning stage for another church plant soon. Our largest church will soon be starting a campus in Oxford. Our Crossroads Counseling Ministry continues to grow. You will note elsewhere in this Catalyst that we now have five centers, and they are all growing as indicated in the report. Hands Up Outreach is gaining significant ground with Roy Callahan joining with Mary in this great ministry to the less fortunate persons in our area, those with addictions and prisoners in our County jail and in our two prisons.
This year's RCBA annual meeting will be at Park Place Baptist Church, and our own Dr. Perry Sanderford, celebrating 25 years at the helm of our Counseling Ministry, will be our speaker. You will not want to miss this opportunity to join other Rankin County Baptists to worship, to hear how God is working in and through our Churches and have an opportunity to fellowship with other like-minded persons.
In addition to the Associational Meeting, the Mississippi Baptist Convention will be meeting at the First Baptist Church in Jackson on October 28 and 29. This too, is a great time for inspiration and fellowship. I hope that many of you will be able to attend this great event also.
In Christ,
Allen Stephens

Teacher Appreciation Reception
Rankin County WMU hosted a reception for all children and children's ministry teachers and volunteers on July 31 at 6:30 p.m. at Brandon Baptist Church's multi-purpose building which was decorated like a school classroom. While the children made thank you cards for their teachers and anti-stress kits for the adults at the reception, the adults played games and fellowshipped. Then the children and adults competed against each other in groups to see who could put a 100 piece jigsaw puzzle together first. One group of children won! Door prizes for church nursery and children's resource rooms were given out, refreshments were enjoyed and gifts were given to the adults by the children. Also, $100.00 was collected on a money tree to be given to help one of our IMB missionary couples with teacher's school supplies. A great time was had by all!
