Honor Breast Cancer Survivors with Friendship Bracelets

The Joy to Life Foundation asks Girl Scouts to create special friendship bracelets for breast cancer survivors for their annual Walk of Life event.  This is a great opportunity for girls to use their arts and crafts skills to bring support, joy and friendship to women and men of all ages who have been touched with this disease.

Girls of all ages and skill levels can create a bracelet  -- we've posted tutorials for all skill levels on our Girl Blog at www.girlscoutssa.org/blog (scroll down to find them).

There is no minimum or limit to how many a girl can make.  Once finished, the bracelets can be turned into either the Montgomery or Mobile Service Centers.  The bracelets will be handed out at the Survivor's Tent on the day of the walk on April 18, 2015.

Volunteer at the Walk of Life

This year, Girl Scouts are invited to volunteer at the Walk of Life event held on April 18! Troops who volunteer will cheer on the participants as they complete their walk, run or dash!  Troops can also volunteer to hand out the friendship bracelets and visit with survivors and their families in the Survivor's Tent.  To reserve a volunteer slot for your troop, please contact Amy Farrar at [email protected].

We are excited to present the new Joy to Life fun patch.  This beautiful and eye-catching patch is a great way for Girl Scouts to show their support for breast cancer awareness and the Joy to Life Foundation.  The patch is available for purchase in our Service Center Shops or our online shop.
