Hands-on Project - Parking Lot Redesign and Build

We have received permission from the Town of Camden to build a PLACE out of a PARKING LOT.  How cool is that!  Using donated supplies, participants and other community members will use their muscle and their ingenuity in the morning of Day 2. This hands-on component will make the session meaningful and complete, with tools and resources you can take to your own town.

The first session is co-sponsored by the Town of Camden and the Camden Opera House.

On October 21 at the Augusta Civic Center, GrowSmart Maine will be holding its 2014 Summit "The Dollars and $ense of Smart Growth".

Why plan for growth and change, when it seems so much easier to simply react?

When there is a distinct and shared vision for your community - when residents, businesses and local government anticipate a sustainable town with cohesive and thriving neighborhoods - you have the power to conserve your beautiful natural spaces, enhance your existing downtown or Main Street, enable rural areas to be productive and prosperous, and save money through efficient use of existing infrastructure. This is the dollars and sense of smart growth.
