Rockland Workshop #5:

"A New Vision for Maine's Commercial Strips" 

Workshop #5 with Lynne Seeley, Consultant to GrowSmart Maine

Join the Rockland Economic Development Advisory Committee and FMM at Workshop #5 on Thursday, January 31 at 5 p.m., immediately following the REDAC meeting to learn about GrowSmart Maine's research on "A New Vision for Maine's Highway Commercial Strips".  Lynne Seeley will present research, design and analysis of two highway commercial sites in Augusta and Belfast.  She and Jane Lafleur, FMM Executive Director will also present commercial strip redesign work from many other Maine communities and elsewhere in the US.

Rockland Commercial Strip RFP Due Monday, February 4, 2013.

Friends of Midcoast Maine, in collaboration with the Rockland Economic Development Advisory Committee (REDAC), has released an RFP for design services for the Rockland Commercial Strip from Maverick Street north to Warrenton Street. The RPF is available on line at

  
All questions received from consultants and our answers are posted on the FMM website under Towns>Rockland.
  
Please forward this RFP to potentially interested parties. The proposed calendar is
January 21, 2013: Questions regarding the RFP Due
February 4: Proposals Due
February 18-22: Potential interviews

February 28:Selection Made

March 18: Contract finalized and work begins

March and May: Public Workshops

May 15: Designs are completed for public workshop review and comment

June 15: Contract ends

The next REDAC meeting will be on Thursday, January 31 at 4 p.m. in the Breakwater Marketplace, 91 Camden Street. The committee meeting will be from 4-5 p.m. followed by a presentation by Lynne Seeley of GrowSmart Maine on Reenvisioning Maine's Highway Strips from 5 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.  Refreshments will be available. All are invited.
