Heart & Soul Community Planning

Round 2 AnnouncedHeart and Soul logo

The Orton Family Foundation has announced the second round of applications for the Heart & Soul Community Planning project. Friends of Midcoast Maine assisted Damairscotta with its application several years ago and has been working with Damariscotta ever since in this important project that includes story-telling, community engagement, visioning, and implementation.  FMM is looking for another town to work with on the application and to serve as the non-profit partner.

SO...Create your best future: The Orton Family Foundation seeks proposals to select four Heart & Soul Community Planning project towns. The Foundation offers funding, tools, and support for its Heart & Soul process, helps communities tap in to a shared vision and discover what makes them special. Project elements include community engagement, values identification, values-driven decision making and action planning, and monitoring ongoing change.

Municipalities of no more than 30,000 residents located in New England or the Rocky Mountains are eligible. The Foundation will host a series of free informational calls on Wednesdays in May and June to better prepare communities to respond to this RFP. Proposals are due July 18, 2011.

Visit Heart & Soul Planning Details for more information.  Contact FMM at [email protected] if you would like your town to work with FMM.

Please forward this e-mail to others. Thank you for your help.

Sincerely,
Jane Lafleur, Executive Director
