On Thursday, June 16, Ed McMahon will serve as the keynote speaker of the Friends of Midcoast Maine Annual Meeting in Damariscotta. His talk "The Dollars and Sense of Preserving Community Character!" will be informative, provocative and inspiring to community members and leaders. McMahon's insights have provided encouragement and inspiration to communities across the nation.
Ed McMahon is a nationally renowned authority on sustainable development, land conservation and urban design. He is the Urban Land Institute (ULI) Charles Fraser Senior Resident Fellow for Sustainable Development, based in Washington, D.C.
McMahon is an attorney, community planner, lecturer, author and expert on the topics of sustainable development, land conservation, urban design and historic preservation. Formerly at the Conservation Fund, he worked to improve both land conservation and land development practices through programs that balance economic and environmental goals.
The meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. at the Lincoln Theater in beautiful downtown Damariscotta. Refreshments and hearty appetizers will be included in your registration.
