DPAC News
Greetings!
The Damariscotta Planning Advisory Committee will be holding a regular committee meeting on Tuesday, January 19 at 6:30 p.m.- 8:30 p.m. at the Town Offices.

This is a regularly scheduled bi-weekly meeting of DPAC. It is open to the public and we encourage your participation.

The agenda and minutes are available on the Town of Damariscotta website. Just click on the link to the right or visit www.damariscottame.com.

DRAFT Charrette Report Available--Comments Welcomed!
The Charrette consultant team (B. Dennis Town Design and associates), have provided a draft Damariscotta Charrette report to the town.  This report summarizes the results of the four day October planning charrette  as well as the recommendations that arose through the DPAC processes over the past year. It is a draft and is only 80% completed at this point.

To view this draft report, visit Charrette Report. The report will be discussed at the January 19 DPAC meeting and we welcome your participation in reviewing and commenting on this report. We expect there will be multiple opportunities for public comment.

After DPAC and the public have had an opportunity to review and comment, the consultants will incorporate these comments into a final report for distribution and further discussion by the Town.
Neighborhood Meetings Planned
Over the next few months, DPAC would like to work with neighborhood representatives to host several neighborhood meetings to learn about issues that are important to that neighborhood, to gather more feedback on the charrette report and to provide residents a forum for feedback to the DPAC and to the Selectboard.

DPAC has identified several neighborhoods and is looking for neighborhood co-hosts to help host the first meeting. Please contact us if you would like to participate in a neighborhood meeting or if you would like to help host a meeting. A host might help pick a time, date and place, invite neighbors, and help facilitate the meeting and continue with these meetings on their own after the first meeting.

Possible neighborhoods include:
  • Downtown Residents/businesses
  • School Street
  • Bristol Road
  • Biscay Road
  • Church Street
  • Back Meadow
  • Belvedere Road
  • Egypt Road
  •  Keene Woods

Please e-mail us at dpac@damariscottame.comif you would like to help or make a suggestion. Thanks!

DPAC Work Plan

DPAC has prepared a draft work plan for the 2010 calendar year.  It includes numerous items that have been requested by townspeople over the past year. Some of the action items will be taken by DPAC as a committee or a new sub-committee, or might be completed by others in the community. The draft Work Plan is included within the charrette report in Appendix X.

To help with any of these items, please contact Jane Lafleur at
dpac@damariscottame.com.
Please forward this information to your friends, neighbors and colleagues who may be interested in hearing more about DPAC and the future of Damariscotta.
