Generation Y Gives their Two Cents
Brittany Oliver, our youth intern, has already developed a FaceBook site to network with young people in town. "Damariscotta Generation Y" already has almost 100 fans and the conversation and comments about life in Damariscotta are flowing. Geared toward 15 to 30 year olds, or Generation Y's, Brittany is listening to the ideas of these young people and letting DPAC members know what they think. Brittany is also planning some activities for young people that will take place in August. |
Save the Dates...October 19 through 25!
One of the major activities that DPAC is working on is a week long "charrette" or planning workshop that focuses on the Business Route One corridor and the Piper Village property. Within the next few weeks, one consultant team will be chosen by the Town to work with DPAC and to assist the town with this planning process. (Thirteen comprehensive proposals were received from consultant teams and five teams are being interviewed this week and next.)
During the week of October 19 to 25, there will be multiple opportunities for everyone in town to participate in discussions and hands-on opportunities to suggest designs and patterns for future growth for this area. There will be lots more information coming soon about this charrette week, but mark your calendars now and save the dates. |
