The next meeting of the Damariscotta Planning Advisory Committee (DPAC)  will be on Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at 6:30 p.m.at Town Hall.  All are invited to attend this routine committee meeting.

Topics to be discussed include a discussion of the first Community Conversation, a progress report on the Neighbor to Neighbor interviews, and an exercise to engage more community members in the Committee's outreach.  Check out the agenda in the column on the right.

DPAC has been appointed by the Damariscotta Selectboard to lead a community driven visioning process to make the Damariscotta region a better place to live, work and play, do business and visit. Its work includes establishing and maintaining an on-going long range planning process and incorporating public dialogue in on-going planning efforts.

We invite you to take a survey about Damariscotta. The purpose is to measure progress of the DPAC committee and its Heart and Soul outreach work with citizens of Damariscotta. There will be three surveys over the next few years...before, during and after the Heart and Soul planning process!

To take the survey visit Damariscotta Survey. Participants who include their e-mail addresses will be eligible to receive $50 Damariscotta Dollars!
Have you visited the Community Almanac?
A few new stories about Damariscotta have been posted very recently.  The website called Community Almanac lets people post stories about life in Damariscotta or other places in the world.  Visit Community Almanac to post your story or to read other stories!
Neighbor to Neighbor...
DPAC members have begun meeting with residents of Damariscotta and the surrounding communities to hear about what brought them here and what keeps them here, what people think are the highlights of town, and what changes they have seen.

These taped audio interviews and stories about town and its people will help inform DPAC about the concerns of its citizens and businesses and their thoughts about the future.

If you would like to meet with a DPAC member or if you know of someone who has an interesting story to share, please
  • call 380-4802 or
  • stop by the Heart and Soul office at the Damariscotta Region Chamber of Commerce on Mondays and Tuesdays or
  • e-mail us at [email protected].

We want to hear from YOU!

Please forward this information to your friends, neighbors and colleagues who may be interested in hearing more about DPAC and the future of Damariscotta.

Sincerely,
Jane Lafleur
