Calling All Aspiring Writers: If this post is

for you, great. But even if it's not, there's a good chance you may know another parent who might be interested, so I hope you'll take a minute to forward it to that friend. Thank you.

If you have some thoughts or impulses about wanting to write or edit for magazines, websites, and blogs, and maybe ultimately write a book, please keep in mind New York Family's writing-intensive internship program. Not surprisingly, many of our best interns are talented parents who are thrilled at the opportunity to go deeper into journalism and appreciate the ability to sculpt a time-sensitive and flexible arrangement. Our parent-interns typically end up writing feature stories; a few have kick started a second career. Interested? Send us an explanatory cover letter with your background and why you think this could be a good match. Email emessinger@manhattanmedia.com and put "magazine intern" in the subject line.
